Mystic 5 January 3-5, 2010 Mystic CT

So very much looking forward to my speaking engagement with Michelle Turner at Mystic 5.

I cannot believe how big this has gotten! I was there for the very first Mystic, a group of photographers meeting in a conference room at the Mystic CT Hilton, discussing all sorts of topics. Since then it has grown into such a fabulous learning + networking event. And I get to speak this time around, eep + yikes + yay!

Brooks Family New Bern North Carolina

I had the great opportunity to photograph Liz Edlund’s clients, the Brooks, along side the super talented + amazingly fun Linda Wallace. I took the flight into RDU, hopped into the car with Linda and off we went to New Bern, North Carolina.

The Brooks are just a genuinely cool family. Lots of love + laughter. I totally wanted to steal Amelia, if only for her dance moves + song lyrics. Zoe was the cutest little thing, even through her tears. And I was sort of hoping that Rebecca + Brandon might adopt Linda + I. That’s not weird. It’s not.

Below are some of my fav shots from that time. Brandon is being deployed at the end of this month, so please keep he + his family in your thoughts.

Introducing the Coquettish Cook

My dear friend Kate has decided to follow her passion for cooking, eating + exploring the culinary delights around her. In her own words, “Eating, drinking, and sucking the marrow out of life”. Rock on, gf!

So we gathered ourselves [and a plate of cupcakes] into my new studio space and created a few headshots for her new blog The Coquettish Cook.

Headshots for John S

It was great fun traipsing around Blackstone Blvd creating some headshots for John. We even got to use some of the surrounding areas near my new studio for the shoot (erm, mainly because I forgot the keys to the space! lol. All’s well that ends well, I say)
