Happy weddings Sara + Mike!!

Yup, that’s right, I said weddings, plural.

Sara + Mike had their first ceremony at the gorgeous Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody MA.

The following day, everyone headed to the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers MA for their 2nd ceremony + a rockin’ fun reception. The weather cooperated (always a plus!), the days were full of big smiles, lots of laughter, and a great vibe of friendship and love.

Thank you again Sara + Mike for letting me document your events. Here are a handful of favorites from both days. Enjoy!!

Happy wedding Julia + Aaron!

The day after my Portland ME wedding, I headed back to Massachusetts, Chestnut Hill to be exact, to shoot the wedding of Julia + Aaron.

Their event was held at the Temple Mishkan Tefila. A traditional Jewish wedding full of so many wonderfully symbolic ceremonies. One of my favorite parts of the day came during Julia’s Tisch, a friend of hers came forward and started to rap this gorgeous song about the love Julia + Aaron have for each other and the beauty of their day and their religion. It was such a powerful moment, especially when she reached forward and took Julia’s hands.

Happy wedding Meghan + Louis!!

A few weekends ago, I went up to Portland Maine to shoot the wedding of Meghan + Louis, held at the Portland Company. This wedding had so much character, so many unique touches, and two people who are so extremely in love with one another, the emotions bowled me over. (Yes, I cried during their vows (: )

An old warehouse, hot pink accents, PBR, a fab Blue Grass Band, a stop at their favorite pub, Dogfish Cafe, before the wedding, meet n’ greet with their puppies, a stealthy switch-a-roo of the dress just before ceremony time to surprise Louis, 80s hits rockin’ the dance floor, and lots of love pouring out of every corner of this event.

It was so much fun, I had such a blast with everyone. However, once Meghan switched out her cute blue shoes for her cowboy boots, that’s when I officially said I would marry this wedding. No word of a lie.

Shooting in Chicago for Wirken Photography

At the beginning of June I had the enormous pleasure of heading into Chicago (Chi’town!) to work with the amazingly talented Tyler Wirken of Wirken Photography. Tyler had 2 weddings in the area, and I was there to help lend a hand and shoot a bit here and there.

Tyler’s clients were so wonderful and the events were so much fun. And as per usual when working with Tyler, I learned alot. Does the name sound familiar? It should. He was my team leader at the Foundation Workshop this year, which you can read about here.

I’m also very excited to be attending the Art of the Moment workshop coming up this September. If you are a photographer hoping to stretch your photographic muscles and challenge the way you see + document the world around you, do check it out. I know there are only a limited number of spots left, so don’t wait! Tyler + Brooks are the real deal, not only as photographers, but as teachers and human beings. I am humbled by the knowledge Tyler has already imparted to me.

What really touched me, was after these 2 crazy weddings, working late late night and getting up to do it all again the next day, Tyler took the time to sit down the night after the 2nd wedding to go over some of the images I shot and critique them. Knowing how tired I was, I can only imagine how beat he was. Yet he took that time, just goes to show you how passionate he is about what he does + helping others.
